Information Apricot Cultivation in India – Guidance

Apricot is cultivated for the kernel class crop. It is produced for cash crops. Apricot is called potato fever and the fruit of peach species. The most cultivated Apricot in the world is in Turkey, and in India, it is produced in the Himalayan regions, which includes the states of Uttarakhand, Himachal and Kashmir. Its plant height is average. In which pink, black, yellow, white and brown fruits come out, and inside the fruit, seeds come out like almonds.

An adult can eat two to three of its seeds, but children should not consume its seeds because it is a slow poison. Jams, juices, jellies and chutneys are made from fresh apricot fruits, and dried fruits can be consumed as dry fruits. Temperate and temperate climates are suitable for apricot plants.

Cultivation of Apricot

Apricot plants need fertile soil with proper drainage. The sandy loam soil is also suitable for cultivating apricots and the P.H. of the land. However, do not cultivate it at all on soggy and complex land.

Climate & Temperature

Apricot cultivation can be done quickly in areas 1000 to 2000 meters above sea level. In addition, apricot plants can grow well in temperate and temperate climates. Moreover, the Farmtrac 45 tractor is the best for farmers because it provides advanced features so that farmers can easily perform in the paddy fields.

A temperate region with a long warm climate. Do not cultivate it there at all because the fruiting activity gets affected due to the hot environment for a long time. The Winter season is suitable for plants. But during the formation of flowers on the plants, the frost that falls in the cold causes harm. So average rain is ideal for its plants.

The average temperature is suitable for the cultivation of apricots, and plant development occurs well at low temperatures. Its plants require a 7-degree temperature for 700 to 800 hours during fruit development. The flowers start getting spoiled when the temperature is less than 5 degrees.

Field Preparation

The pits are prepared for planting apricot plants in the field. Before drilling the holes, the area’s soil must be pounded. For this, in the beginning, after cleaning the field, deep ploughing of the domain is done with earth-turning ploughs. After which, by ploughing with a rotavator, the soil becomes friable. To level the friable soil, put a pad in the field. Due to this, there is no water logging in the area during the rainy season.

Pits are prepared for flat land, and all these are ready in rows. During this, a distance of 5 to 6 metres is kept between the hole to the pit, and there should be a distance of 5 metres from row to row. Moreover, swaraj 744 xt is the excellent tractor model which offers best farm implements.

Seedlings Preparation

The pen is prepared in the nursery for planting apricot seedlings. Its enclosure is designed using pen dab, grafting, gutti tying and pen seed. In all these methods, the plants prepared from the pen have the same properties as the main plant. But the grafted plants prepared by the seed method have fewer properties than the central plants. Its seedlings can be prepared in the nursery after the rainy season and are planted in the spring season.

Planting Plants

Apricot plants are planted in prepared pits in the field. For this, a small hole is prepared in the middle of the pits. After preparing the pit, it is treated with the amount of cow urine or Bavistin. After this, the seedlings prepared in the nursery are planted in the holes. Then this, the plants are covered up to some height by pouring soil all around.

Apricot seedlings can be transplanted by March, July and August. Where there is a proper irrigation system, plant the plants in March. Plants require more care at this time. Plants can be grown in June in irrigated places. During this, there is the rainy season, and the plants get a proper environment for growth.

Irrigation

Apricot plants require moderate irrigation. Plants have to be watered three to four times during the summer season, and less water is needed in the winter season. Irrigation of plants is done at an interval of 7 to 9 days in the summer season, and in the winter season, the plants have to be watered at an interval of 20 to 25 days. The drip method is considered better for irrigation of apricot plants.

Weed Control

Natural methods are used to stop weeds in apricot plants. For this, in the beginning, one month after planting the seedlings, if weeds are seen near the plant, do light hoeing. Its plants require a maximum of 7 to 8 hoeing. But three to four hoeing should be done in a year of fully grown plants. If the additional crop has not been produced on the vacant land in the field, do light ploughing after the rainy season.
